Cool Just installed exhaust: Question

So i just installed my exhaust(Offroad X pipe and a Mac Catback).

It sounds AMAZING. I am very happy with the setup. I recommend Mac over flows any day. My previous setup on the GT was a BBK X with flows, it sounded great however, it had some nasty rasp and horrible drone.

With the Mac you get the great Chambered sound, louder at WOT than flows and 0 drone

Anyways, i had a question. I did not do MIL eliminators so that could be my problem. I plan on getting a dyno tune, however this may be 6 months away so i was not worried about throwing a code at this point.

Where my problem lies is i am blowing white smoke. What is causing this and is it hazzardous to my car?

Thanks

could just be a coating or something on the new exhaust burning off... I never noticed any smoke with mine, but definitely a noticeable smell that eventually went away/burned off.

The car has 30k on the clock and has not done this at any point before. Im almost thinking its the coating that they put on the pipes just burning off..

Yes, i definately have that smell. Its not the exhaust fume smell, its the coating. I just wasnt sure if there would be a white smoke from it.

I'm putting the exact same setup on mine minus the 4v engine part. It is definitely the coating, on my old pipe i had that same funny smell for a little while but it goes away shortly

Mine did the same thing when I first installed it, and I have the exact same set up as you.

Where did you get the catback? Is MAC finally catching up on their backorders? I'm trying to get my hands on some Pro Dumps.....

I got it from Brenspeed.com.

From what i understand, the only MAC catback ready for immediate shipment is the aluminized 2.5" with the 3" tips, so that is what i got.

It only took like 4 days to get here Props to Brenspeed

I hear about a lot of fitment problems with MAC but everything went together perfectly and tucks up very nicely.
