CAI's dont make much of a difference JLT makes the best IMO.

But honestly look at 01GT4.6 He has a built motor and he still uses the stock intake. Removing the Snorkel and using a K&N droping is about as good.

Yeh everyone is going to tell you the same thing......remove snorkel and drop in a K&N filter and call it done. Unless you want a visual thing under the hood. As far as performance not much gains if at all. Maybe 1-2HP if that

I removed my snorkel, then put it back in. I was recording 2* lower IAT's with the silencer in. It is not a restriction.. no need to take it out.

^+1 -- the silencer has a 75mm diameter (4418mm²) opening, larger than the effective area of the MAF.

As to the "best" CAI, the best value is the CAI that came on the car from the factory.

i only ask cuz i have half of a cia lol someone put in the front pvc in fender part of a dense charger intake, but left the factory rubber maf to tb part. I was just thinking i might want to change it to some sort of full cia, if for no other reason than to make it match.

Well you know what you should do. Head up do a dyno one day and prove them wrong.

Use your current setup. And then an aftermarket intake back to back. So there is no question of different days, different dynos, ect.

If your lucky you may even be able to get an intake for free out of it, or at least at a cut rate, If you write to a few manufactures saying you are doing a comparative test/product review/right up.

Its actually something I had planned on doing but never got around to it. I always wanted to Because I had always used the stock upper intake because the aftermarket ones would hit my strut tower brace(I don't want to start a debate about the value of strut tower braces, it seems to happen every time i mention that thing lol). And I had a tuner tell me i could pick up 15whp w/ a proper intake because I had cams.

I begged to differ.

On the dyno the JLT makes about 7RWHP over the stock setup with a 300RWHP motor. I wouldn't get one until you get the real mods done first (cams and/or boost)

I may actually do that. I'm thinking about switching to a plate system and if I do I'll then have an empty hole in my air intake. I could plug it up for a before dyno and then change it out with a JLT or something.

ON EDIT: I just sent a msg to JLT.
