Since it is out on an Engine stand, Call some local Machine shops. Ask prices to prep your shortblock.. Bore/Hone. A place by me actully had a Stroker kit laying around for a few years(he was going to throw it in his Crown Vic) Ended up selling it for NOTHING.

But call around and ask what it would cost if YOU Brought them the motor, Forged Rods/Pistons/Rings. etc...

THen ask What it would cost for them to Supply All the internals.

Then Look at MMR and see what they would charge to Ship u a Built Shortblock with the Specs as the Machine shop to see if its worth the time...

Good luck!

Careful storing it in your basement.

If you don't have a dehumidifer, it'll draw moisture and rust like the dickens.

Ask me how I know. haha

It may only have 28k on the clock but that 28k is like 80k on one of our cars. Rode hard and put away wet. They leave the cars running for hours on end, and shift change comes back out again. It would be a fun project for you to learn on.

maybe i am just talking out of my anus but wouldn't a lower compression ratio be a better application for boost? Would you be able to make more power due to a lower compression ratio with boost? Either way I would take the motor.

What a lucky bastard....Gotta be happy for the guy though! I just have a feeling that this guy is going to tear this engine apart....learn how to put it back together, and put it in his silver stang and still be slower than his buddy with the sonic stang....

I'm like well what kinda motor is it. He picks up the phone and is like its a 4.6 v8 Police interceptor motor, has the interceptor package. ( which i think is just something with the ECU ) it has 28K ON IT! he said just take it free of charge. it runs and everything, the cop car they took it from was it by a drunk driver. from behind and they took the Engine ! ! I can't believe it. So that's why I'm asking you guys is it too good to be true??

Will this Engine Match up to my car ? I have a 04 GT.
I was gonna keep it in the basement and beef up the hell out of this Engine, then drop it in when i feel like it. My Engine now only has like 72K on it. So I think I'm in a good place
huh? trying to get some from his daughter? you sly fox!

as for the motor, free is free so you can't really complain.
