Unhappy One Wheel Peel!?!?

I noticed the last time I was at the drags I could not get my driver's side spinning. I figured maybe the slicks were a bit too sticky as I'm not making much more than stock horsepower. Now I'm noticing I'm only spinning one tire on worn street tires. I always laugh at guys burning up one tire now I'm doing it! HELP! Why is posi not kicking in??

on a 2001 using slicks...you've fried the LSD clutch pack. The LSD needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

How big a job is this rebuild? If I'm opening her up, what kind of upgrade is there out there to beef it up?

If its stock go with 31 spline axles, a new diff, bearings/seals and gears. Do it once, do it right. Its not a big job (granted the car is down until complete) but the tolerances are what makes it a pain.

Are you planning on using your car as a daily driver or mainly dragstrip?

Unless you're going with some serious FI there's no point to put money into upgrading the axles.

I just plan for what may lay ahead, and an extra couple hundred is worth the insurance when 28 and 31 spline diffs are roughly the same price.

My plan is to keep it street legal but I'm leaning her more towards the strip. Started this year with a few upgrades and I don't want to have do the same job twice, so probably worth doing it right this time...

u should not have laughed at the other people doing 1 wheel peels. but yeah i would get a good 31 splined lsd some gears if u dont have them already (3.73s or 4.10s) and 31 splined axles and you will be good to go. but make sure you get the tolerences right or you will have a whining rear end
