Default wingless question

When you put the silicon around the plugs, if you want to put your wing back in, does it mess up your paint? i like the wingless look, but until i can take it to a shop there will be times i want to put it back on. just want to make sure it wont mess up my paint. Thanks.

i didnt even use plugs...i used electrical tape....small piece covering holes on outside, and small piece on inside....looks like hell, but it will hold up just fine until you decide to put it back on or have the holes filled

hahha, plugs, my holes are open lol. But no, if you use "water clean up" silicon, you should be fine. The chemical clean-up styles are much more invasive with paint. What you should do, if you are THAT concerned, is only silicon from the bottom side of the the trunk lid. Have you taken the wing off to look at the trunk lid yet? Its likely going to have many imperfections underneath the mounting brackets on the decklid.
