Default Need advice in removing Cats

i have a 2000 GT mustang with a borla chambered catback, custom made x-pipe and magnaflow high flow cats. i'd really like to add some more volume what would be the pros and cons of cutting those cats off and if i do, they only have 5k on them if anyone would want them...?

I'd switch to Stingers, and keep the cats if it were me. Or just buy a off road pipe (you can get them cheap if you shop around) and switch back and forth when you feel like it.

Why not cut them and put flanges on each end, then make straight pipe with flanges to put in place, that way putting cats on or off for inspection or if u dnt like it is only as simple as a few bolts and 2 1ft pieces of exhaust...

If you have the high flow cats you probably won't feel much of a difference taking them off. I say look around on craigslist or get a cheap pypes brand or MAC brand off road pipe, that way you can just do a swap for emissions. If you want a louder setup and don't have the money to buy a new pipe, cut your cats out and weld your pipe into a straight pipe like someone said before. Either way you'll need cats back on eventually for emissions so if you know how to weld yourself and have the tools then do it that way, if not save up for a new midpipe.

so whats the difference going to be in leaving the x pipe in that was already made and is already in and just cutting off the cats as opposed to just buying the off road pipe? im not worried about emmisions being checked anywhere near where i live

They made cutouts illegal now too. At least in NJ.
