Default next stop Tune town

well i will be getting a upr catless x soon and have it installed which will ad to my magnaflow catback, densecharger CAI, PP 75mm tb and plenum.

i have: diablosport handheld with generic "93 tune", a sct 4 bank chip, and a locked xcal 2.

the dyno shop is running these prices:
-if i go with chip its $450 fully tuned(but already owning one would be cheaper)
-i can buy the Xcal3 and fully tuned for $500
- i can bring my own handheld and get fully tuned for $200
-if i unlock xcal2 he said it would be $150 from SCT

what would you guys do?

he doesnt deal with diablo as far as writing tunes onto it but can do it with the Xcal2.

i know most of you would say the Xcal3 dyno tuned for $500, but this isnt going to be a crazy car, its a DD with the occasional trip to the track. i dont want to spend all that only to get 5hp or 15 hp( said these cars are inconsistant in terms of gains)

which is why i was thinking using the chip to at least get some benefit from the mods. the downside to the chip is that he said it interfers with the radio(he had a 04 cobra with a mach460 system and said it cut the reception almost in half on stock headunit, but i have an aftermarket one with the basic system)

any help/advice is appreciated
Dean

thats a tough one. Its all about how much money your willing to spend for a few hp. Personally With what you have done to the car and the fact that you have a chip/tuner already i would just go with the chip fully tuned since it would be less then $450. But then again i wouldnt be worried about losing the radio since i listen to my Ipod in the car. I just wouldnt want to spend $500 on a tune till iv had more done to the car to see bigger gains. Unless you dont plan on doing any more to your car. If your done modding get a good tune.

yea, i have the ipod plug as well but i listen to the radio a decent amount too. im not going FI or NOS by any means. the only realistic thing i MIGHT do is gears (prob 3.73's/4.10''s) i do want to keep it a nice daily driver/ occasional track run and keep it fun.

yea thats what i was thining, its like buying an excursion when all you need for room is a mini cooper lol

for what i have i think the most suitable would be just the chip with a peformance tune and economy tune...oh and stock as a setting.
