Default engine help!

Im new to fords and rescently got a 98 vortec s/c mustang gt

So today i was driving in a rain and ran over a long puddle. Long story short my car stalled immediately and stopped. I tried to restart it but engine started knocking and exhaust poured out smoke.

So **** it, i hydrolocked it... My dad helped me out with the situation and took it to his buddies shop. The guy wants to install a crown vic engine in it, but i dont know if its a best idea... My current mods are Bassani X pipe, CAI, Slp catback, 10 lb pulley tuned on 7 psi, intercooler, vortec s/c, clutch and gears...

What engine should i buy so the supercharger will bolt on?? I was already thinking about a pi swap in the future, but dont know if i should install a crown vic engine...

Need all advices i can get thanx

well try to find a 99-04 GT motor because then it will already be PI and wont have to do the upgrade. A crown vic motor is the same thing though.

Did you cut the bumper for an i/c or something??? looks different than stock. And from what i've seen, the 99+ crown vics dont have PI motors looking at their power numbers of 200hp and 275tq...so its gonna be a NPI motor.

99+ Mustang GT motor is what you want. Just make sure whoever you have looking for a motor for you knows that.
