Default MAC Catback Drone?

I did a search, but I couldn't find too much about this...

I really like the sound of the MAC Catback system (based on online clips, anyway), but I'm concerned about the level of drone. Based on what I could find, that type of muffler is going to drone somewhat. Can anyone who has the system comment on this? Also, if the drone is bad, is there anything that can be done to reduce it. Finally, what effect would changing the rest of the exhaust have (i.e. long tubes and a catted h/x pipe)?

Thanks,
Frank

All i know is that my brother had the MAC system, and he said it droned pretty bad. He has had 9 exhaust combos (different mufflers, x, h, and prochamber) and said the MAC's had the worst drone of the bunch.

I have a mac catback and don't get much drone. Kicks in around 1800-2200 RPM. On the freeway it'll drone but with the windows up you don't hear it at all. I love the way it sounds.

When the windows are up is when its going to drone the worst. I have flowmasters and they are the same type of muffler. They will drone. But i really dont mind the drone anyways. MAC's tend to be louder than flowmasters so they probably would have more drone...but thats just deductive reasoning.

I don't feel that my MAC catback has much drone at all. I think if you do gears, this will increase the drone (esp on the highway). I am really happy with it. On the rare occasion that my wife has to drive it, when I hear my car start up or drive by, I'm all - man, that car sounds awesome. Then I realize it's mine.

Well my car has 4.10's and the drone on the highway was slightly too much but i still didnt care. I want a new catback though. So that problem wont be a problem much longer.

all the chambered mufflers drone. thats why everyone calls flowmasters, dronemasters.

changing out the rest of the exhaust will make the car drone louder. the louder your exhaust is (headers and aftermarket midpipe) the louder the drone will be also. the drone on my flows is pretty bad with my or X, with the stock pipe its not bad (but the exhaust is too quiet with that). its something you have to and will learn to live with.

If you have chambered mufflers you have to learn to live with drone. But if you go with a straight through muffler, you wont have as much drone as with a chambered muffler.
