JBA makes great shorties for our cars. Look at them. They are in the price range of longtubes but they are carb legal i think. And 3.90's are a good compromise between 3.73's and 4.10's. But if your going to get 3.90's because youre afraid of 4.10's being too much, just go with 3.73's.

I'm really glad i went i went with the 3.90's. I can still pull around 117 mph in 4th (which is perfect with the nitrous) and they pull more like 4.10's IMO. My buddy has has 4.10's in his gt, and it feels the same to be honest. The 3.90's just really complement the 2 valve powerband IMHO.

Do either BBK or FRPP if you have a "friend" in the smog business. JBA is the only one I know of that's legal here ($600 for 6hp). The FRPP's used to be legal (per advertising), but I don't think they are anymore; I was going to do them until I found this out, headers are not something I want to uninstall every two years for smog.
EDIT: Here, check this out /www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/amquery.php The search function on there sucks, so you have to sift through a lot of stuff to find anything, but CARB e.o.#'s are listed for thousands of parts for just about any vehicle.
