sct tuner usage
Hey guys, after researching I called Brenspeed and ordered a SCT tuner, free tunes for life I was told, anyway I bought the tuner after my bolt ons and after giving my list of things they wanted the ecm code and were going to program me a tune. Well, after reading what I can find (no instruction manual comes with) I went to download my tune and all I could find was 87,91,93 canned tunes. I installed the 93 and car does run better but wouldn't the other mods make any difference? That was why I bought the tuner, I later purchased a Accufab 70mm plenum and asked if they would email me a tune and I was told, "don't need one these cars respond well to just bolting them on". Well ,heck,I should have responded by spending the $400 at a tuners had I know that. Dont get me wrong I'm not bashing them they have been very good to talk with but reading my bolt on's, am I wrong? I needed to change my gear ratio anyway and have tuner for codes down the road but just feel im leaving a few ponies in the barn.

I understand "canned tunes" my question is , shouldn't the programmer have a tune listed-- 03must4.6 --or something like that...... all I got was canned tunes. I'l call them when they open, seems like they just care about 05's & up after I've been involved with them now.
I don't know about your other issues, however modifying TB and plenum does not require any modifications to the tune.
They let the engine breath easier, however the MAF records the small amount of additional air flow to the PCM at WOT and higher revs, and the PCM adjusts fueling/timing/etc accordingly--I.e. there's nothing to be tuned for when ugrading the TB and plenum...

I bought my SCT tuner from AM. When I requested a custom tune, they emailed it to me. I just downloaded it to my PC and uploaded it to the tuner using the Livewire software. I would think the same tuner with Brenspeed would work in a similar fashion.
You can find the manual on the SCT website.

If u asked BrenSpeed for a custom tune they will email it to u then u have to down load it to the programmer. The SCT tuners comes with canned tunes (87, 89, 93 octane).
