Default Found an engine, what to do?

I have a 98 gt npi and I found a 99 gt pi motor for $300 and the bearings need to be replaced, so heres the question; Do i just swap out the heads and build on the npi motor, or just replace the bearings on pi motor?

What would you do?

I would swap out the heads and build on the npi motor or find a good pi motor. I wouldn't buy an engine that needs bearing because who knows if the metal shavings from spinning the bearins messed up anything else. The crank could need to be worked/replaced, and the cylinder walls may be scratched and need to be bored or honed.

since I will have an entire engine, I dont really need a kit do I? I would have everything I need for the head swap. Right?

Yeah, I would toss the PI heads and intake on the NPI motor. More compression and a better motor to start with. The PI motor will need likely need a new crank. You will have to get the ford head changing kit with the gaskets and bolts, but yeah, it should be about all.

No, the factory head bolts are tty (torque to yield) which means they are unusable after they have been torqued. You can use the other bolts like intake and stuff just not the head bolts, main cap bolts, or rod bolts. supposedly the crank and cam bolts aren't to be used again either.

If you buy the ford head changing kit as mentioned above, it comes with new bolts.
