Default Fuel Line Threshold

How high is to high for our fuel lines and fuel rails? I've heard people running the fuel rails near 600rwhp but haven't heard much about the lines other than Cobra guys going near that level too. I think the Cobra's fuel lines are the same ID as ours?

Thanks,

Luke

well granted a smaller ID can increase pressure given the same flow rate, much like putting a nozzle at the end of a garden hose....(but without getting into Fluid Mechanics and Bernoulli's equation with the velocity at the nozzle increases but pressure technically being Zero at the nozzle outlet assuming atmospheric pressure ) i would also think that the limiting factor in the lines would be anywhere the connections are (fuel line to fuel pump etc) and not in the metal fuel line itself.

but IF it was a problem then a solution would be to keep same ID to maintain proper pressure required for the application but to increase wall thickness.

i would just ask around any of the Cobra guys and ask what PSI they are seeing? if you are planning 600+hp you have bigger problems with building the motor etc to handle the power rather then the fuel line pressure limits.

but not knowing your goals and the reason for this question, im just throwing out what i would assume/think.

sorry i can't answer you specifically

At about 550 RWHP and stock fuel lines on a '98 Cobra I'm seeing 37 PSI with out an adjustable regulator. Hope that helps.
