Default What have you given up...

What has everyone given up to get what they want for their cars??? Im in the position right now where I have about $2200 worth of parts that i want to purchase for my car by the time late july roles around. As of now, i make about $300 a month while I'm in college between going home for a weekend or two, as well as my on-campus job. When i go home, i make about $300 a week. Im just wondering what all you guys gave up to get what you want for your cars. Over the winter, I saved up to buy myself the wheels...but i gave up a lot of fun times. So just wondering what you guys give up for your babies and do you feel it was worth it.

I have gone without cable/satelite tv, food, alcohol(at the bar, not at home) and sleep to mod mine.

Haha yea, i know the feeling man. Right there with ya. Living with the minimal stuff right now as i need new rear tires for the new wheels since the ones they came with only had like 30% tread left.

I quit pocketbike racing, and this summer may quit MMA training. Those two hobbies free up about 1k/month for me.
I'm not 100% sure about quitting the training though, I have an anger problem and training really helps me keep a cool head, just because I'm too tired or beat up to care.

Yea, i dont think i'd give up the MMA training if it helps you keep cool just to mod the stang. The pocket bike racing i can see cus them things are small and its not something you can go out and enjoy everyday like your car can.

You pretty much summed it up teej...gave up a lot of fun times. The things i really try to watch are just the little things that add up over time. Like going out to dinners, penny pinching at the grocery store, selling things i don't need. More or less buying what i need vs what i want.

yeah, I love fighting and training to fight. Plus, I meet so many ppro fighters, it's ridiculous.
I too have cut out going out as much, although when the wife wants to go out....there's no question, I take her. I'm even thinking of getting a lil part time job for some extra coin.

Yea, i pretty much give up all weekend activities and i give up everything that is a social life when im saving for something major. I gave up pretty much going out anywhere over winter break til i had my wheels. So did you guys find you were happy with giving up the things you gave up for the end result of your car??? My parts i want are LCA's, new shocks and struts, front coilovers, cobra brakes, new front tires, light bar, ball joints, bumpsteer kits, and probably some other things that i want to get before late july...cus IM GOING TO MUSTANG WEEK!!! lol Im planning on taking my car down there and auto-x it and then drag it and just have a blast with it. Thinking about another part time job to work and get a little bit extra coin as well to further help with the modding money.
