Default 14.7 @ 95 ? problem?

Gota 98 gt vert and am currently running it with a bbk 78 mm tb, bbk cai, bbk o/r x pipe hooked up to a slp lm 1 catback and 4:10 gear ratio. stock the car ran pretty much exactly the same as it did after these mods. speedometer is way off cuz of gears and there is no type of tune on the car whatsoever. could this be why i see no difference in 1/4 mile times? how much would a good tune help? thanks for any advice. i need help!!!!

Yeah, your time sounds about right for a NPI 98 mustang. And your mods really don't do much to boost 1/4 mile times except maybe the midpipe and gears.

and to Bojangle, the pre-05 stangs don't need a tune for the CAI, but he would for the gears.

gears are the only thing that would have made a noticable difference on your car. your probably running the same time because you are spinning too much comming off the line. going from those ****ty stockers (arent they 2:73's in your year?) to 4:10's should have been a good jump (several tenths of a second), but if your spinning too much to take advantage of them, its counter productive.

Yes 2:73 was stock gears. The car seems to run a little funny and def runs rich and like i said before the speedo is way far off. I never posted better than a 2.1 60' so i am hoping that with the addition of 295 nittos and a good tune i will post up a much better time. Track here opens up around march 12 weather permitting so I will post new times up shortly after that. And yes I know I need some good heads just dont know if i wanna spend the money on them or just buy newer 3 valver
