remove front bumper support

i want to do this to run a intercooler. ive heard some people do it, others say no. any advise?

i think it's a bad idea. if you get into an accident you're screwed. plus, even if it's a fender-bender, you're going to do a sh*tload of damage to the car because the first piece of real metal that is going to stop your forward momentum is your engine.
