mine was missing too when I bought it, I changed the spark plugs and realized one of the wires was burnt out I was only running on 7cyl or less. I'd suggest checking basics like that its real easy to check...

how many miles do you have? I would do plugs, wires, fuel filter clean your iac and go from there.

sounds like the time when I didn't plug one of my wires after replacong the plugs(retarded I know). Could be something spark plug related.

I would check all spark related items and even check for vacuum leaks. Then check your coolant level. I'm reading to many people with the same problem including myself recently. Cracked Intake Manifold. Mine cracked at the heater hose and ran the same as yours. Studder until about 2000 rpms. Water was leaking into the #4 plug wire.
