You can get these at almost any part store but do they really work or add anything?

 

The only for sure effective one is Methanol Injection. lol but I heard they dont do much and they actually arent good for your engine. Or was it the cats or o2 sensors. I dont remember. All i know is i've heard they are no good. Just get higher octane gas and call it a day.

 

All they do is raise your octane... so if u regually put 87 grade it would be like putting in 89 or something (not sure how much it actually raises it)... so no they dont really do anything unless u have your car tuned for a higher octane rate. But instead of buying that you would be better off putting in like 91 or 93 grade gas

 

the advantage ofrnning higher octane is you can run more timing without detonation

...I've heard they only add one tenth of a point to the gas, meaning for it to be worth a **** you would have to add multiple bottles. I'm sure they will say on the bottle itself how many points of octane they add.

I use three when I'm cleaning out my toilet after burrito night.

They are a waist of money.

 

pretty much most of them say they add 3-5 points and some of the expensive ones add like 7-9. Some are leaded, some arent. You have to watch what kind you buy if you decide to try it so you dont get the leaded kind and mess up your cats and O2's.

 

i kinda wish my waist was made out of money, then i could just pull bills off my hip or thigh whenever i needed something. Alas, im made of flesh such a waste.
