ok well i did some research and found the $1500 vortech setup thread that sounds like the perfect solution to me any thought on that?

i have a 99 gt with a intercooled 2.1 L kenne bell it runs cooler then it ever has, so that is not true. what they may be talking about is heat soak, after you hammer the throttle lets say for a dyno run the water in the intercooler will heat up , then your second dyno run will see a HP loss , and a loss on the 3rd. my three dyno runs were 408 , 399, 388. it drives like it is stock till you step on the gas a little,its alot of fun to drive! a nice feature it has is a valet set screw, you can lock it if you need to take it to a shop so they cant beat on it.i love my kenne bell, i put it on when my car had 105,000 miles on it , now there is 110,000 and not a problem. it was well worth the money. kennebell.net will have some valueble info that you may want to read. i spent a couple of nights reading there web site. there are alot of topics on there you should read to make a good choice if you want to do this.in the end i think you would be blown away by the kenne bell

Everyone is going to tell you to get their personal favorite. Mine is ProCharger. I've got 60,000 miles on mine and its still going strong.

Superchargers are belt driven and always generate boost. Your right foot determines if the boost get to the motor or not. If not the boost is simply being vented off. You can be driving at 5000 rpms and still not have the boost reach your motor, meaning your vacuum/boost gage is still showing vacuum. So in reality there isn't any particular point where you are in boost or out of boost with either a KB or a Procharger.

KBs generate more boost earlier than centrifugal superchargers. That is why they have more low end torque. And at WOT all that boost reaches the motor. But a supercharged car requires more throttle control than just pushing the pedal to the floor (or else you're bouncing off the rev limiter and constantly sliding sideways). Throttle control means that you are restricting the amount of boost that gets to the motor. Because of this the the KB low end advantage is not as great as some think. After first gear it doesn't matter at all because no one races at 2500 rpms. Even with a centrifugal supercharger throttle control in first and second is important.

My experience was that you need an intercooler even if you're only pushing 8lbs. My car was slower than stock once the computer pulled the timing. My intake air temps were 180+ degrees at only 8lbs. I have a Vortech V2 and had to buy an intercooler setup.

any supercharger is going to be a blast , i like the look of a kenne bell or whipple.if you choose to purchse a supercharger there is alot to think about. before i put mine on i installed a SSBC big brake kit sub frame connectors so the car would be safe and able to handle the added power.along with new springs, adjustable gas shocks and struts, cast and camber plates.also a set of good tires so there is none of the sideways stuff going on, i have nitto nt01s ,315s on the rear and 275s on the front.so the cost of everything can be a high price to pay for the thrill,around $10.000 plus in my case
