Default Solid, reliable bulb?

One of my license plate bulbs just went out on my Mustang. It was an aftermarket bulb, that illuminated an excellent, clean white light. It barely ever got hot, and burned much brighter... but I think the leads in the bulb are having difficulty making contact or something.

Anyway, do you know of a website that sells SOLID, RELIABLE WHITE license plate bulbs. I know it's a minor modification, but it seriously makes a big difference to me, it looks excellent. I am willing to pay top dollar for these bulbs, as I am tired of ebay junk!!!

My went out like ehh a week ago. I can't say much for aftermarket stuff.... i've had the same ones in (factory) bout 6 years b4 it went out and i just went down to a the local ford dealership and have em install a new one all for 11ish. NOT bad, no searching around and i was too lazy to install one myself because those bulbs prob cost 6 or 7 or extra 5 bucks who cares.

How long did the bulb last before it burned out? The main difference you will find in the aftermarket bulbs is the color temperature and light output. They do not last as long because of this. Factory bulbs are yellowish and not attractive, but they last a long time because of this. Is it really a big deal to spend 10$ a year on a set of aftermarket bulbs?

Considering your feelings on this, I honestly think a solution may be getting LED bulbs. They are only marginally more expensive, but the life expectancy is drastically longer and they can be as white and bright as you want them to be. Try this place they have tons, I havent ordered from them but they seem legit.

What is the "number" bulb that our cars take?
I want any bulb that glows pure white. I still have the stockers... but they suck, and get super hot.

I would have to look it up, I dont have manual for my car. But if you have one, its in there. Probably a 194 or a 168 something of that sort. The LED bulbs will definitely be whiter and brighter(as long as you opt for the 3 or 5w bulbs) and will not heat up. they also won't burn out in the lifetime of your vehicle more than likely.

See HERE...a 194 or a 168, both have same base, and current obviously won't matter since it's an LED cluster.

Now, i wouldn't buy this light necessarily, just posted this to show you the proper numbers.

I think this site looks really solid. 7 bucks with free shipping. I'm just concerned they might be a little blueish.
