Default Exhaust

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums although I'm not new to the forums in general. My name is Candace (I'm a girl!) :] I have a 2002 white GT.

Right now it has on it a Bassani high-flow catted X-Pipe and Bassani catback. I absolutely love the sound, but I want to put headers on the car. The X-Pipe I have is only compatable with shorty headers, and I don't really want shorties, seeing as the SOHC engine barely breathes as it is. I'd like to put a nice set of long-tubes on it, but then I need a different mid-pipe.

I'm looking for something that sounds comparable to the Bassani, but I don't know if there is anything out there. I know that Bassani has a very unique sound, which is what I love about it. But I want it louder, and I want it to breathe better (as best that engine can).

So to end my babbling, what I'm looking for is help on what kind of mid-pipe would have the best sound. I guess I'm looking for something throaty, but nothing raspy. Help!! And thank you to anyone who posts :]

Bassani makes some mid length headers that I think will work with your mid pipe.

http://www.bassani.com/part/4602VIt says it bolts up to the 5 piece power x, and comes in chrome or ceramic.

Thank you, KZ, but the only problem is that it says it's for manual transmission. My car is an automatic.

mac's will fit automatics. a BBK x pipe with that should sound the same as the bassanni (as close as it can, your changing headers so the exhaust note will change a lot), they are both stamped x's not true crossovers like a UPR or others.

or i dont know if bassanni makes a shorty X pipe or you could have an exhaust shop chop yours down too.

I didn't know of any long tube's for the auto, I thought you had to do shorties. If you don't want the raspy sound you NEED the h pipe. The h gives you a deeper muscle car tone.

Well a friend of mine offered me his Mac prochamber; he only put 100 miles on it. I think I'm gonna buy that off of him and a set of Mac long-tubes and call it a day. For now, at least.
