Default On3 Turbo Kit

installed my on 3 performance turbo kit and couldn't be happier. Keep getting all kind of good compliments on the kit on how clean it look. Definitely a great kit for the price! Made 412 hp 422 torque with only 9 PSI. Gonna build a motor on the side and crank up the boost and spray it down the road. Car is definitely fun to drive with 9 PSI. here is a dyno video. Gonna hit up the drag strip soon! http://www.youtube.com/user/SaintaCl.../0/a_hGZ_biUj0

umm...you realize that you should be making A TON MORE torque than you are, right? I forget which member on here just installed his hellion kit, but he was on like 10.9psi and made 437hp/5xxtq...you are off for the amount of torque but hp sounds about right. but congrats. I wish i could turbo my car, but not gonna happen.

yea the torque does seem low, but that is a nice flat curve on both torque and hp.

This is just a guess on my part, but could the fact that Hellion uses a 61mm turbo on their base kit and On3 using a 70mm cause that drop on tq?

Yea, that could be. torque still seems a bit low. should be up in the mid to upper 400's though still.

TJ, he also has a PP lower and shorties also though, so hes most likely losing a good bit of low end torque with those.

someone on the video right at the end said something about the torque too... maybe they have since found/fixed the problem

it's because the turbo is way too big, that's all. The other member was running 500+lb ft because his turbo was sized 100% correctly.

On3, not even close to Hellion. You have any idea how much work/engineering/R&d went into Hellions kit? There's a reason they use a 61mm turbo in their base kit. I also guarantee you that the bends are placed fairly optimally.

Still has to be fun, but yeah, get a smaller turbo, and you'll be running a higher torque number.

Ive looked into that on3 kit, not a bad deal at all. But the turbo it comes with and even the Masterpower turbo upgrade arent optimal in my opinion. A 70MM turbo is serious overkill for 4.6L's that max out at 450whp on the stock block. I think a Turbonetics 60-1 would be a nice fit but even that might be a bit large.

turbonetics T60 is essentially the same turbo hellion uses, actually its 1mm smaller. so it would act the same as the hellion turbo.
