I need some help!
Well about a month ago I toasted my motor and I'm just now getting to pulling it out and rebuilding it. I'm pretty sure I've spun a crank bearing but haven't opened her up yet to know for sure. Anyways, I've been looking all over for a reasonably priced 4.6 out of another mustang, however I keep coming across 4.6's out of grand marquis and things of that nature so I'm wondering if I should just pick one up and swap over the heads and stuff from my other motor, assuming that there all good.
So I guess my questions are can I buy any 4.6 from a different car and swap over the parts from my toasted motor assuming there still good? If no, which ones should I look for and what ones should I stay away from?
Besides the old heads, cams and misc. parts from the mustang motor what else would I need? I know ill need a gasket kit but other then that I'm unsure.
I'm hoping to do this the easiest way possible while keeping a cheap price tag. And I'm not looking to upgrade anything because this is my DD and my Fox is for fun. So thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from all you experts.

Well I just went to the local pick and pull and came across a 99 Lincoln Town Car and was wondering if that would just drop right in. If not, what would it take to work and is it even worth it? Thanks again for the help.
crown vic, you could use the shortblock but i would use your heads/cams/intake.
The merc muraders are 4vs but they are still 4.6s though you would pay more for them, i think your best bet would either be a short block out of a 96-04 or a crown vic.

Yea I've been looking for awhile now and haven't found anything. I'm really liking this Town Car because the car and motor looks new, besides the deployed air bags, and looks as if it was owned and taken care of by an older couple so I'm sure the motor wasn't beaten on. It's only 300$ too, which is a plus but I just wanted to make sure and hear it from you guys that it will work.
