Just about everything is illegal but that only if you get caught doing it ya know. I mean really you could just save everyone time and find out yourself by looking it up. Or better yet just asking your shop your using, they should know all or most CT laws involving cars.
No.......... I'm asking if it is safe to drive on the highway with no hood on. In other words, asking if it is damaging. I don't care if it's legal or not. I am asking if I need to avoid the highway because of possible damage risk at high speeds.

In that case go for it. Didn't mean anything negative. You should be okay.... really. Also i don't think it would really matter which route you took to get home either, ehh rather which ever way has the least amount of chances of being caught

the hood it just 2 bolts (and then the ground needs to come off too) Easy.

I mean if you want to talk risk, a 18 wheeler could potentially throw some tire in your motor and cause all kinds of problems. Its up to you man. Just think it out. I personally would stay on the 50 mhp streets... where as somebody else on the forums might say "hell why you are at it take it to the strip cuz your engine will run a tad cooler"

You'll be fine w/o the hood; get an extra set of hands to help you take the current hood off. Jeez, you guys, leave this poor ****er alone. He just likes to make threads, if you don't like it then quit giving him answers, it only encourages the behavior. The purple ice comment was pretty funny, though. And dude, try to make less threads (just do like the rest of us do and add onto/update an existing one you already have going or threadjack somebody else's).

I already have a friend of mine who went out of his way to pick up my hood that was in a cardboard box and drop it off to be painted.

I will take off my hood myself, it seems easy enough.
ok since you decided to talk to me like a jackass (after i defended your idea, mind you) im going to treat you like one. i said to REMOVE your original hood at your house, then REPLACE it with a piece of cardboard TEMPORARILY so you can get to the body shop without legal trouble, then you can have the shop INSTALL the new hood. ok ********? got it now? should i break it down more for you?

now that idea may seem stupid to most, however you originally wanted to drive around without a hood altogether, so i just proposed a less stupid idea that would probably give you enough leeway to make it to the shop without being harrassed. also, you could dispose of the cardboard at the shop when you got there, or fold it up and put it in your trunk. OR, and this would be the most ideal idea, you could just nut up and beg your friend to get the hood from the shop and pay him with beer or somethin. but whatever, you can go f*ck yourself for all i care
