Default dressing up a vert?

hey guys, havent been on much lately i know. been real busy with work. just got stationed down in portsmouth VA on a 270ft cutter, lot of breaking in to do with that, just moved into my first apartment also.

neway im looking to dress up 02 vert a little bit. its black on black so im looking to do a black and yellow theme with it. my car is going to be more of the weekend car that we take out when its nice. my girlfriend drives a 98gt and its more of the go fast daily driver... 5speed with sts, 4:10's, type s body kit, lowered, intake, full exhaust, seat delete, other lil ****. i want to do something with the convertable top when its down, that cover that ford provides is crappy and anyone with a vert knows, it does not fit. im looking into some of those covers that cover the back seat but im not sure, if anyone has any pics that would be great. id like to stick with a "soft" cover but it has to look clean. also looking to do some other little things maby a custom painted shift **** and custom stitched shift boot. maby a screaming yellow jlt intake with a black ford logo on it. not sure... how did you dress up you vert?

Wheels, light bar, lowered, and thats about it as far as looks go. I mean I dont plan to go much further than that. Do lowering springs and a nice set of deep dish black wheels with fatties out back and call it a day. If you want to, do a nice hood like an 00 cobra r hood or just a 2.5" cowl. but other than that, nothing much to do unless you wanna get into the ricier stuff like the hard toneau covers and body kits like saleen. But I'd just do wheels and springs and call it.

With a vert, less is MORE. Lightbar, wheels will do it. Lower it for performance, not looks IMO.

i think lowering it goes both ways, it looks great and it handles better. it already has the styling bar in it. i really want to find a way to hide the convertable top when its down and i know the hard toneau covers look like **** but i havent found a soft one that just covers the top?

hard covers look bad ***... what you talking about... there just expensive.
N if you lower for looks 9/10x the people who lower for looks end up with a terrible ride/performance.

If you go for performance, you get the best of both worlds. ..its usually more expensive for performance tho lol.

dump those bullets and get some new wheels if you want a different look. Also you could do white face gauge overlays from American Muscle really cheap and they look very sporty.

Well I agree with doing wheels, go black to go with the theme, and plz go with 18s. Perhaps a custom painted yellow lip on deep dish??? Kinda like aereon did with his wheels. Tint yur tails, get a chin spoiler, and a cowl hood.

As far as the black yellow theme, paint the calipers yellow or something, and maybe like a custom painted fuel door. Just dont overdo it, keep it tasteful.

custom wheels will be on the end of the list. i want to still save a little for a 95-04 stang with a nice v8 base that i can strip and race. my gf has a nice 98 but she wont let me get my hands on it to tear it apart. as for the white face guages i had them on my v6 and never liked them, and now with the black on black i dont want any white.

the owner of the club i belong to is a ret. Coast Guard guy and want to help me install a lowering kit when i get them. i think that is going to be next, i just saw hoss302 post and his vert looks amazing with the pro kit.
