Default Need prereq's on a supercharger setup.

I am looking at buying a kenne bell supercharger for my 4.6 but I need to know what I need to buy to prepare for that. Also, can I put in vt/cms stage 2 n/a cams and it work fine with the s/c? I will probably get the cams first.
I am looking for the best over all increase in power with as little tweaking to the parts as possible. Thanks.

I'm looking to do a Kenne Bell and have n/a cams similar to your VT stage 2's. From what i hear it'll be fine so long as you don't go crazy on the boost, which obviously would be more than your car could take anyway.

Waste of money without a forged rotating assembly. On a totally stock 99-04 GT the KB 2.1L kit alone is enough to totally max your engine out. That would be like paying extra to blow your **** up. Unless you're gonna rebuild the engine in the future dont even think about it.

Since I just purchased a Procharger for my car, I am doing the same thing. What I have purchased so far (that is not directly related to the supercharger):

New clutch, to be installed before the supercharger to handle the power, as well as a new TOB

Cobra front brake upgrade, new rotors and better pads in the back.

Still needed:

Better tires!

3.73 gears in the back.

I am not planning on running the car close to the breaking point, so I am not getting a new MAF, Plenum, Throttle body, etc..

What he said, you'll need to forge the motor, might as well do it right the first time, unlike the majority of people who buy s/c's and just slap em on.

also I would wait and install all of the parts at one time to save on the tuning costs.

Are you saying that putting a s/c on a stock bottom end is doing things the wrong way???? Thats rediculous. If you are happy with 400ish rwhp and dont plan on pushing past that there is no need for a forged bottom end. I have two friends locally one has an 00 gt making 410rwhp with a vortech and another with a 96 cobra 434rwhp on stock bottom ends. The owned of the GT bought the car when it had 55k miles, supercharged it at 65k miles and it currently has 135k on the clock and the car is far from babied and he never blew out the bottom end.

I didn't mention anything about a stock bottom end, I was refering to a forged rotating assembly. To me, your motor would be a ticking time bomb, especially since we are talking about kb's here and not vortechs. psh

Im confused. In my mind a forged rotating assembly would mean "built bottom end". Stock bottom end would refer to "non-forged rotating assembly" with the exception of an 03-04 cobra of course. What I am saying is that you do not need a forged rotating assembly to reliably hold 400 horsepower.

OP don't buy na cams if you are going FI route doesn't make any sense. You can purchase and install blower cams without have a FI it was won't make enough power.

I don't recommend blower cams and FI on a stock motor.
