measured my exhaust dB..
So tonight, a club at my school decided they were going to have a car meet, where they judged different cars in varying categories. I signed up for the exhaust comp, where they measured the decibel levels. The peak reading: 132.9 decibels, which is damn loud. The average jet take off is 130 dB at 100m to put it in perspective. I just thought it was kinda interesting to see an actual level, gotta love Super 44's. btw - a dumb ricer with a fart can "beat" me at 148dB. It sounded like crap anyway.

What weighting scale, from what distance were the measurements made? (just curious)
"A" and "C" are the most widely used weightings; the "A" weighting attenuates lower frequency response to a large extent, arguably representing human hearing response. The "C" weighting is a more flat response curve; low frequencies have more effect on the readings.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you what weighting they used. The judge crouched down and held the microphone/sensor right at my exhaust outlet, and about passed out from the fumes my buddy said

Do I have any sound clips? I'll link a video from the judging tonight. I'm actually thinking about getting some BBK shorties with my tax refund this year, for the same reasons.
