"eBay" headlights--part deux
I had posted this at the end of a longer thread, rather that start anew--however it seems from the responses no one has read it.
So I will start a new thread...
================================================== =====
I just received these today, they are virtually identical to the OEM housings--the exception being the clear sidelight/reflector.

Materials, assembly, fit and finish were as good as they could be; in fact better than those I bought 3-1/2 years and 75k miles ago to replace the OEM headlights that were cloudy and fogged up after 3 years and 30k miles.
These were $89.99 w/ free shipping, looks like I'll be set for another 3-1/2 years...

I really like the clear sidelight/reflector--that's the last vestige of color on my car. In a fit of "shades of gray" I hit the rear reflectors with 4 coats of VHT nightshade--the taillights are already blacked out.
That should give the FHP something to fret about (actually I have only been harassed once in over 2 years about the taillights--and that was in the local mall parking lot)...

I was just about to ask about this. Are the headlights clear? Look dark as hell.
I've tossed and turned on the "smoked" look with my DSG Mustang. But in the end i've been really afraid of it because of two reasons. For one the amount of light it filters out really really gets on my nerves. I want people to see my brake lights and I want to see the dumbass deer running in front of me in the middle of the night. The second being i've seen the "smoked" look way too played out recently and I think it would look really really awful with chrome rims. The whole body of the car would contrast with my rims.
Instead i've been thinking hard about white C-stripes or white decals very similar to yours cliffy, except instead of stopping them above the wheel like you, continue them downward and then across the side of the body. I forgot what they call this style of decal. But I saw an 05 grey stang with a very similar setup and it looks ****. I always thought in my head it would look all convoluted with the DSG, white and chrome combo but it comes together great.
If this company offers the very same headlights except stock clear I will buy them.

They are tinted, though I don't know that I would go as far as "smoked"--however as the surround for the reflective cavities is flat black in daylight they look quite dark.
Illuminated they do not block much light, which id good as I do a lot of nighttime driving.
It was the clear, rather than amber as with the OEM housings, sidelight/reflector that attracted my attention--in fact I sought that out...
