Default YES!!! Another exhaust thread!!!

Ok, so everyone knows how I recently did an IRS swap and I like being different so I sought out to find an FRPP catback, either the M55 or the M58 FR500 catback. First one I found was the FR500, so I bought it and its now on the car. Before I go any farther, I probably should get an exhaust clip of how my car sounds right now to decide whether or not I should go any further, but here's the scenario...

Guy posts on SVTP about how he is thinking about getting rid of his M55 catback...hmm. I posted up that he should let me know when he is going to get rid of it and that we would work something out that I could buy it. Next thing you know, I have a PM in my inbox saying that he isnt ready yet but that he would let me know when he was. I then told him I was looking for either FRPP catback and that I came across an M58 FR500 catback. He then responds saying that he was about to put out a feeler to see if anyone wanted to trade their M58 FR500 catback for his M55 catback...HMM. So i'm emailing the guy pictures of it now and might be trying to go up next weekend to swap catbacks with him.

Now everyone knows the M55 catback from this vid...

Thoughts on this guys? I'm really thinking if he'll swap me that I'd do it.

Let me know what you all think. With this catback, I'll definitely be staying catted, as I will have no need to go o/r midpipe. lol

Thanks guys,
Teej

If he's game for it I'd do it in a heartbeat.

personally, the m55 sounds too open for my taste. It doesn't have the idle burble, and at any decent throttle all you hear is noise.

My personal favorite for 4.6's is an o/r prochamber and borla stingers.

That makes 1.5 votes, one from purp and a half from me as im still up in the air about it. lol anyone else up this late to contribute?

Orange vert is the exhaust in question...the infamous FRPP M55 catback with an o/r x. My setup will remain catted though so it will be slightly quieter. lol

I think the M55 sounds like crap. Way to loud, IMO. Stay with what you have.

Problem is that nobody runs it catted so its tough to judge how it would sound on my car.

Teej, will the m55 still have that sweet double X? I love how your FRPP catback looks with that X right under the IRS.
