Default Firewall adjuster install

So i got my UPR quick click adjuster in yesterday, went over the install sheet and they suck. So I went to MM website and thye have a great install sheet with pics. But I'm confused on the rubber bushing steps. MM says to remove the stock on and install a new smaller one. I don't know if the MM adjuster has a smaller ID than the UPR one.

MM install sheet:
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/co...h/MMCL-3r2.pdf

I'm referring to steps 11 through 15. The UPR sheet does not say anything about a bushing. I don't want to be in the middle of this only to find out I need a bushing AFTER I cut off the "gear puller"-like housing.

I called UPR and he made it seem I cut off the gear puller-like housing and (leaving the stock bushing) install it in the new adjuster...

Anyone remember what they did in regards to this?

THANKS!

Where did you get the other bushing from? I did not get any other bushing in the mail with the adjuster. Only got the adjuster and 2 screws with an "install sheet"

I guess to be honest, I don't remember exactly.

How does the adjuster fit without a bushing at all? Does it even fit with the stock bushing?

Beats me, that's what I wanted to know before I get into cutting stuff off my stock adjuster. You need to cut off the gear puller type housing to be able to test fit the new adjuster....but I don't want to be mid-install to find out I need a smaller bushing and then not have a car to go and find one lol

Well you cut off the plastic firewall mount regardless. So after you cut that off, just test it with the stock bushing still in place.

LOL that's not the point. So if I test fit it and I need a smaller bushing, my car is laid up and I can't go get one. I want to have all the parts I need before I cut it off and can't put it back together real quick to get a part...

As far as the quality of the parts...they look great, it's just the install page that sucks and I want a clear answer before I do anything to the car that can't be undone (cutting off the housing).

oooooh sorry.. yeah my mustang has never been more than a weekend car... so I often forget other people can't use the 'fvck it let's see what happens' method.
