Being carb'd helps because the stock PCM won't allow you to rev that high. You can get about 7200rpm out of it (after being upgraded). There are a few similar build out there right now. I have a couple buddies that are looking into carb swaps. As Nick said i that thread, the eddy intake, carb, and 7,000+ rpm makes good things on these mod motors. That build was with fairly mild cams as well. I'm sure if the compression was down a bit in the 12:1 range on pump gas and some hefty cams would allow you to run almost as good of numbers.

So I pulled some more stuffs on my motor today and I'm going to do more tomorrow. My land lady said..."are you doing major work or is this just minor repairs." So I told her..."uh...yea I'm just prepping for major work right now so I'm just pulling the heads, intake, wiring harness, fuel system, and some stuff for my radiator. So just minor stuff right now." and she said..."so if you need to you can drive it?" And I told her..."Yea! No problem!" lawl.

I don't think it is very hard at all. Edelbrock sells a kit for our 4.6s IIRC. Just won't pass emissions anywhere. But I know a lot of guys could care less about that especially for building a track car.

Here is the kit...just did a google search

Dude thats how I roll! Lol I live all the way in the back and she never goes back there so she probably wont but if she does oh well I'll just tell her that I'm a day away from finishing and that she can fine me if she wants but the lease agreement doesn't say I can't do major mechanical work so screw it! On a side note I found a side job here at the apartment fixing peoples cars because they don't know how and they saw me doing all this work so now I can make some extra money on the side when I'm in port! YAY ME!!!

hey everyone i have a question. I just bought an 02 Mustang GT or what i believe is a GT is there any way to know for sure that its a GT? some time of difference underneath the hood that i can see that distinguishes it from a regular Mustang. I dont really know much about mustangs. if anyone can help it would be greatly appreceated.

Please don't take this the wrong way. But shouldn't you have found out before you purchased the car? Like I know I would have. Easy way unless someone slapped GT badges on a v6 is that it'll have GT badges on it. Otherwise, an easy way is look at the spedo gauges: in a v8 go up to 150 while a v6 only goes up to 120. The gt's have dual exhaust. But if the v6 does look underneath to see what it has for a mid-pipe. Someone else can chime in here too.
