Default sohc or dohc?

So i am trying to look into everything before i buy my next mustang. At this moment i am looking at the ohc motor.. I was wondering what would 'flow' better? forgive me if i am using a incorrect term. i am looking to see which would be a better cylinder head choice.. the two i am looking at are the stock dohc and ported trickflow heads.. I am building a part list for each engine type. The sohc comes out to be more just because the cylinder heads. I guess i am looking for personal experience that would be out there. anything input or questions are welcome.

A four valve head will flow more but they make up for the price in cams.

DOHC can make equal power with less aggressive cams due to the increased valve curtain area.

SOHC has less moving parts than DOHC(and OHV engines), less weight(about 25lbs less), but, as indicated above, will require a more aggresive cam to make similar power.

The Trickflows allow a huge high lift cam, so if a rough idle is no sweat, Trickflow is the way to go.

So are you going to buy another 2v and build it or lookin into a 4v car (mach/cobra)

Or are you speaking about building your existing motor or swapping a 4v in?

If you were to swap a Mach 1 motor into your car, with full bolt ons and a tune your looking at ~ 315-330 to the wheels. A heads/cams/intake full bolt on 2v will also put you at or near that territory. I would think it would be cheaper to just toss heads/cams on your existing motor. Assuming your doing the labor yourself. I think the better route would be a mach1 motor with LTs, pulleys, and some 4.30s.

I would be looking into buying a whole new car because sadly i totaled mine aabout a month or so ago. The two i am looking at are 99-01 cobra and the bullitt. simply because of the price. i would swap a 5.1 short block in soon after i bought it just because i will end up throwing a turbo in it after my next deployment

I'd go for the 01 Cobra all day bro. LTs, full exhaust, intake, TB, pulleys, custom tune an some 4.10s and that car is cookin. Dont forget the IRS brace and bushing upgrade. However if you wanna go the turbo route... I'd buy a sixxer rolling chassis and upgrade to your liking.
