Picking the right Headers??
#41
when i had my 2.73's i got a 27mpg run one time and with my 4.10s i can only get about 25mpg. nots bad for a 50% jump in gear! its really the driver and not the gear when it comes to mpg.
as for headers lt's are nice but if you are not installing them yourself then i would prob just stick with the stock headers like mention before. some really good info here, its a very good idea to not jump on buying performance upgrades. A bit of research goes a long way, but remember dont believe everything you read :P

I don't think ill ever race with this car or s/c it so prob 4.10 is the best. If I was iffy about that i'd def go 3.73's no questions asked. But IDK too many places in the US where its okay to be driving a buck thirty-fourty ish ahaha. So im not worried so much about high speeds.
Whats the mpg if any over stock gears compared to 4.10's?

Do yourself a favor and save a little longer and buy a good set of LT headers. I race FS in the NMRA and we have tested several different sets of LT headers. We picked up the most power on the dyno with American Racing Headers. There really is a difference between a $600 set of LT headers and a $1000 set.
As far as gears go, NO DOUBT, go with the 4.10 gears.
