Default PI vs Non-PI for supercharging

Hey,

I'm planning on getting a mustang this summer. I like both the new edge and SN-95 styling so that point is moot. The plan was to get a 99-04 gt and slap a vortech/supporting mods on it to hit ~370rwhp.

How much power are people with centri non-pi 4.6's making? How much power can the stock bottom end hold?

If its close or equal, I think I'll shoot for a 96-98 for cost reasons.

Thanks

Stock the 4.6 can handle 450 and that's living on borrowed time. 400 to be safe. And npi heads actually have more potential than the pi heads do but right outta the box pi heads are better

From what i hear they both can handle about the same power on the stock internals.

The motors will hold the same amount of power, but pound for pound the PI is going to make more power with the S/C. I've seen some non pi GTs making only 320-330rwhp comparred to 360-370 on the pi setup with the same blower and boost.

In an Edge!

Hopefully not too close with a nice fat A/F of 11.7.

Bad thing is I think the rings are starting to get weak on me so it might be time to step up the efforts to find a forged bottom end and DOHC heads...

Sweet, thanks for the info guys. I'll look for a npi gt and just boost it.

Fox466- I'm not gonna shoot that high, but its nice knowing people have and haven''t blown their motors yet lol
