Might have to consider that!

That depends. If you have more than 80,000 miles or so it wouldn't hurt.

I vote gears as well, but think about what you will enjoy more. Are you more of a performance guy or a looks guy?

Btw, I have been wanting to install my gears and had a question. Can any ole mechanic correct my speedo or do I have to take it to a stealership if I don't buy a speedcal?

I don't have a tuner. Basically I'm trying to get around having to buy one. Is it possible?

It says he has a steeda tri-ax, so manual.

OP: gears are big on the list, but I can't stand looking at a 4x4 mustang. I probably would've done the springs first.

Gears should be the first mod on any Mustang if performance is desired. The factory gears are too tall and kill your accelleration. You will not regret doing the gears.

Advice, for what it is worth...
Be sure to get an experienced mechanic to install the gears.
Unless you have a low mileage Mustang, replace the bearings and seals now while you are in it. It costs a few dollars, but now is the time to replace the old stuff.
Don't go out jammin gears as soon as the car rolls out of the shop. Take it easy on the new gears for 300-500 miles while you heat cycle the gears a bit. You'll get all kinds of differing advice on that, but there is no good reason to take a chance with them if you can simply wait a week before hammering them.

Enjoy the new car once the gears are in!!!
