Looked up the C&L stuff, looks like a total of 15hp with the plenum and the intake together. Not bad, im just wondering how hard this motor was run? Do these modular motors last a while if they are taken care of? My limited car knowledge deals with BMW's (especially E30's) and those motors last FOREVER!!

Yea man i mean if you just keep up regular fluid changes and suc and don't just beat the hell out of them they'll last a LONG time!

They're great motors!

Okay cool. It seems all OHC motors run awhile. Are these bottom ends forged too or no? Cause if they are, that'd make it damn near bullet proof.

Sadly nope, no forged internals.... cobras 96-01 have forged crank and 03/04 do have all forged bottom end..... BTW that is a really good looking GT...

Not to dig up an old thread, but I'm in a similar situation. Looking at an 02 GT 5-speed, 70k, leather and a good amount of options it looks like. Dealers asking 10k and blue book is just over 10k which don't sound too bad to me if it's taken care of (which it looks like).

My question is if there's any specific issues that I should watch for with these year mustangs, I've heard about the trans clunk issue in cold weather but other than that, is there anything that I should watch for or that should be typically be replaced/upgraded if I buy it? It looks pretty stock other than exhaust tips or full exhaust that I can see.

Thanks
Justin
