Default Should I get this supercharger?

Well Ive been looking for gt500 superchargers online for a while now. I plan on getting a Navigator engine, forging the internals, some decent cams, and want a supercharger. So I thought a gt500 s/c would work great. I wanted low end torque. I just want to start off with something basic and will upgrade the s/c later. My question is, should I buy this s/c? It has a wear mark on the rotor and Im unsure if its normal for these eaton blowers to have them. If itll work fine, I dont really mind it.

I'd pass and just get a whipple 2.9 to start out with. That will give you all the power you'll ever be able to use anyways.

Have you confirmed a GT500 S/C will work on a Navi motor?

I would love to get a whipple, but I cant justify spending $3500 on just a supercharger right now. Im hoping to have the entire engine together for $4000- $5000. I found out that steigmeier can repair this. So I would send it there and get it ported while it was there. It should make some good power with a smaller pulley and some light port work.

As for it fitting. Ill need to get an intake manifold off of a gt500 aswell. It will bolt up since gt500s have the same heads as a cobra r, and ive heard of people putting cobra r intakes on navigator engines. All I might have to do is a light port match. Which shouldnt be too difficult.

The heads are slightly different. I should have access to a machine shop this summer. So Ill be able to modify/ make the parts I need. Only issue is finding the lower intake manifold. Almost impossible. Im probably going to just do the navi motor with a 03/04 supercharger. Its alot easier to mount up. Make a few adapter plates, belt tensioner and thats all I should really need. Id like to make over 500hp. This way I can stay up with the newer gt500s. I am going to get a the s/c ported, get a bigger crank pulley, smaller s/c pulley, and I should be around 18- 20 psi. The port should help with the heating issue, and Im going to have a decent sized reservoir to keep the air temps as low as possible. If anyone has any knowledge on these s/c's and see any issues Id greatly appreciate the help.

Yea, running 18-20psi out of any eaton blower is not smart. That is going to be terribly inefficient and hot. Your computer will pull timing like crazy! You'll be better at around 14-16psi. Also, look into a killer chiller. That uses the a/c system to cool the intercooler fluid. Works wonders for eaton powered cars. You may also be able to widen the 03 manifold and then do some port matching to make it work without adapter plates. And I'd say get the gt500 blower and lower manifold. I'm sure if you look around you can find one wrecked and get the blower and everything off of it and stuff. Putting that older eaton on is not going to help you out. Gt500 blower and manifold is what I would do personally.

Well I recently won a 2011 gt500 s/c, t/b, air intake assembly and belt. Only has 800 miles on it. I could have gotten a slightly older one with about 5k on it for a little cheaper, but I decided to pay the little extra and get this one thats very clean, and has no rotor wear.

Next I need to look for a lower manifold and intercooler. Also, I was wondering if anoyone that has a bullitt, mach 1 or cobra could take a few measurements for me to see if it would fit on the inlet. I need to distance between the holes, and the size of the backside of the tb inlet. If I have to ill modify the current tb and adapt a drive by wire unit on it.

Thanks,
Brian
