That is normal, the PCM keeps the idle at 1100 or so until the car acutally stops, to make sure there's a good supply of power steering system pressure for the Hydroboost brakes. I have searched and searched the tune looking for the value that controls that...

I think I may just have a bad computer or something. Theres no rhyme or reason why it should do it over time you know. A code is a code is a code. As far as I understand the KAM is not an adaptive learning system as you have to reset it after certain mods.....so I cant see why its doing this over time.
The KAM is nothing but learned values; idle air, and long and short term fuel trims, along with other learned values to account for component variabilities.

Current values are accumulated in a summed average manner, where each value has equal weight in the averaged value. As the number of acquired values increase a new value has less influence on the learned value--it will eventually adapt but it takes much longer to do so once it has "settled in".

For example if 9 samples have been summed, the 10th value will represent 1/10th of the summed average. If however 99 samples have been summed the 1000th value will only be 1/100th of the summed value. At some maximum number of samples (let's say 1024 for sake of argument) each new one will continue to represent only 1/1024th of the accumulated summed average for the remainder of the accumulation.

Clearing the KAM resets the accumulated sums and counters and makes the learning curve faster...

Default 2000 Mustang 3.8L V6

Idle set at 750....perfect! Had a rough idle for the longest time and as I was replacing my fuel injectors I found the secondary intake manifold bolts to the cylinder heads were not tight enough creating a vacuum leak! Runs like new now! I say this because I have seen quite few posts about rough idles and possible causes!
