Default Grill delete question

Hi, this is my first post. I got an 03 GT convertible a couple weeks ago, and am ready to start modifying it a little. I like the looks of the grill delete, so I was looking at them at the various vendors. I've seen that there are 1,2,and 3 piece kits that have a large trim piece or not, as well as the pony or not. What pieces are really necessary? Late Model Resto. sells all the pieces seperately, so not sure I really need all 3. I'm thinking of an open grill without the pony. I did try searching, but all I found was mention of the Mach 1 grill delete, but not what pieces are necessary. Thanks.

That's what I'm not sure about, what does the 3rd piece do? It is optional in the AM kit, for $35, what is it for? It appears I can put in the bottom piece and the pony with the 2 piece kit. Anyone with the full 3 piece kit, what does the 3rd piece do?

WIERD. I remember when I bought my grill delete I didnt have an option for the Frame.. My kit came with the bottom layer piece...and the pony with the bracket the pony goes on....WiErD I didnt need to modify anything.. I would say get the kit without that 3 peice option and see how it goes...

I bought my grill delete YEARS ago tho..so..

I have the 3 piece kit from AM. Don't quote me, but IIRC the difference between the 2 and 3 piece kit is basically under the hood. In other words, when the hood is closed you can't tell the difference between the two, but when it's open the 3 piece looks much more complete and cleaner.

It's definitely worth the extra $$$ IMO.

You can tell the difference with the hood closed but you have to know what you are looking for.

These are the three pieces:

The third piece(the one in the back) is not needed, but it cleans the inside of the grille up some IMO.

dont mind the bugs but here is mine with the 3rd piece behind the pony in my opinion def worth the extra 35 cleans up the look alot. i took out the stock push rivets and replaced them with longer christmas tree style push rivets because i was going though 2 more layers of plastic installing.
