Default Chugalug IACV!!!

So for the entire 4 years I've had my slobra the IACV has been bad (I think). Idle super high. Mostly when it's hot.

There has been something that concerns me!

I got home today and was fed up of the 2k idle!!!! Pulled I'm and opened the hood. Unplugged the damn thing and to my surprise the engine speed dropped to less than 500 and a chugalug she went!!!

Uhhhhhhhhh wtf? It's bad right?

And cliffy, I don't have an awesome voltimeter so measuring idle current and load current and whatnot isn't gonna happen!! Hahaha. Love you bud!

Should I just buy another one already?

Bank is slim this week

Because racecar.

Id suggest cleaning the iac with some carb cleaner. If it fixes the idle, you know thats it. Thats how i found out my iac was bad.

WTF is this because racecar crap everyones posting, sounds like something RICE from the honda forums. Just replace the IAC, cleaning them is like a crutch and ford claims they arent "servicable"

Im not saying to do that to fix it. I did that to my car to see if it was the issue or not. Its a very short temporary fix at best. He should still replace it if its broken, but theres no need to replace it if theres nothing wrong with it.

I've done probably every 'diy' remedy possible. Nothing works completely. I guess I'll just buy the damned thing. $150...a couple hours of work, right? heh....

If you have an EGR valve, it may be stuck open or has carbon trash holding it open.

The EGR valve creates a vacuume leak into the exhaust anytime you put your foot on the throttle. It varies proportionate to throttle opening, so it doesn't offset much intake air at different speeds, but it is one hell of a vacuume leak at idle if it doesn't close all the way.
