Yeah, I am sure a paint pen would have worked just as well. Possibly even better.

Ahh, but I like the polished pieces. I kept all the old pieces to the side though in case I ever change my mind though!

Corbeau is one of the seats on my short list. Specifically the TRS model. I briefly thought about reupholstering the current seats but I think they are terribly uncomfortable. If I am going to spend cash on some seats I want them to have some comfort to them...

Yes, the dash sucks to pull... I did it last since I knew it take my car off of the road for a few days. If I would have done it first it might have discouraged me from the project alltogether. I did not realize that the dash pieces cant be pulled and that I would have to remove the entire instrument cluster all the way to the firewall. It did allow me to change the carpet a bit easier though.

A few hours would be a fair guess for the strict pull/install of the dash. Since it was the whole cluster I had to have the wife help (carry out of the car, back into the car, and line up the holes). The dash was out for a few days though (pull, prep, paint white portions, dry, pull tape, re-tape, paint black portions, dry, install).

Alot of time was spent prepping. Since prepping is the major potential fail in all paint jobs I made sure to take my time. I scrubbed some of the dash and bezel pieces until the color came off. I figured that was a good indicator of "clean!" I wore gloves the entire time so not to get finger oils back on the pieces and I stuck to a 5-7 minute flash time between light coats of paint. I let each piece dry for at least 48 hours before putting back in the car. Overall I would estimate about 80-100 hours over 6 weeks. Some time was used verifying how to prep different plastics (some were PP some were ABS, some vinyl, etc), Some time was used tinkering with the pieces too. I probably burned close to an hour figuring out how to take apart the latch and lock tumbler on the glovebox so I could get the keyhole and handle black and the glovebox white. The whole project surely could have been done faster but ive seen fail paint jobs before from people taking shortcuts and I didnt want to be that guy.

Thanks for all the comments, I look forward to sharing more pics after I get new seats in.

i was thinking about doing something very similar to this since I have the tan interior as well. I'm wanting to do the black the same as you have but keep the tan accents and do black/tan two tone with the seats. I have a black vert bar as well, i think it could look good. Sexy changes congrats.
