Nice car man! I was always more of a Screamin' Yellow kinda guy, but awesome pickup nonetheless! Another IRS owner FTW! Now get bushings and 03 cobra halfshafts and hubs and you'll be set!

silly previous owner... the ONLY benifit of synthetic is it last longer and you can wait till 5k to change the oil....

Nice car none the less... i too have always had a thing for yellow cobras.
I'm pretty sure some cars require only synthetic. (I'm not saying the OP is one of them). That's what Ford requires in the 03/04. My oil changes cost me around 60 everytime which gets old fast. lol

OP: clean car! Nice buy!

You're doing it wrong if it's costing you $60 an oil change.

You can get 5 quarts of synthetic oil for less than $30 at any autoparts store and a $10 oil filter. And just change the oil yourself.

In the first post you wrote something about a bassani catback and then in your signature it says flowmaster catback. So which is it?

Yea, $24.50 for 5 quarts, then another like $6.50 for another quart of Mobil 1 5w-30 and a couple bucks for a motorcraft filter and youre good. Do it yourself. Not that hard, just dirty. And nobody really minds the grime right?

You DON'T need synthetic in his car...however thats not the point i was making. The point i was making is if you change synthetic 2k miles sooner than you need to, you are wasting your money, the only point to synthetic oil is the longevity of it. Thats why it is more expensive than dino oil. Someone... Hoss maybe? was in a class where they did tests on oil and even most dino oils didn't even start to break down untill nearly 5k while synthetics went to nearly 7 and beyond. So if you are changing synthetic before ~4800 you're wasting your money.
