power guestimates on ysi 2v
This is my close buddies build, just trying to get some guesses on what this thing would produce when it's done. I almost feel as it's part my car since I do a lot of the work on it lol.
here's the majority of his build:
mmr 4.75 1000 shortblock 9.5:1 cr
mmr stage 3 heads
mmr stage 3 blower cams
eddy intake/6061 plenum/75mm tb
4core intercooler
vortech ysi at around 20psi
longtubes/or H/slp catback
gp 1000 return style fuel system w/ 80lb injectors
It will not be pump gas, either e85 or 93 w/ meth
thru a manual trans.
it will be revved as high as it can be, mmr said the motor/cams are good to up to 8k if needed.
here's some pics of his build/car, he still needs the fuel system and the blower, and a few odds and ends. he may just throw his v2 on for the time being so he can drive the damn thing, but within a year it will get upgraded(and the v2 will be mine :P).

keep in mind this car was also a v6 car a year and a half ago
. his 1/4 times went from a 14.9 with the v6, to a 12.9 with a bolt on 4.6, to an 11.6 with a v2/bolt ons, and hopefully bottom 10's atleast with this next stage.

Well it better be over 700rwhp. I know ox when he had his car got to 700rwhp with a Novi2000 at around the same boost. This thing should break over 700rwhp though. And with that much power, he better be below 10's. On E85, I could see it making 750rwhp probably if everything goes right. And he better step up to 95/105lb injectors if he is going to E85. 80's will be close to maxxed with corn fuel.
On 20lbs, I would say in the neighborhood of 750 and 800. With the ysi and those cams, that will will have absolutely no street manors. Its going to drive like a light switch, either on or off.
I hope that mmr crank can take the pressure of a ysi. Ysi is extremely strenious on the crank, and if its not a billit crank he should expect issues not long after the ysi is put on.

It's a stock 5.0 crank made to go in the 4.6 block, that's how they got the 4.75. Why does a Ysi cause more stress on the crank then any other blower? I've never heard that before.
He's being conservative on his estimates for low 10's and 700ish whp so he doesn't get disappointed like most people lol.

You guys realize it takes about 250hp alone to spin the ysi enough for any benefit, right? Buddy of mine has an xi, one step above the ysi, and he snapped the snout of the crank off with the balancer and the pullies.
Ysi is a serious blower, aiming for 10s is foolish, the blower is used on 8.50 cars in nmra. Imo way over kill for a street car.

I still dont see how any of that has to do with breaking the crank. My buddy has a milder build with an f1r and a cobra crank and only spins it to 14lbs. That's dumb IMO but it still works fine and has good street manners. I'm not doubting it, just would like more real information.
How don't you see it? The blower strains the crank between the rods and the pulley, right by the front crank bearing. Too much stress or too weak of a crank, and it will twist the crank off into 2 pieces
