Default BBK LT questions

've read a few different things about BBK LT's not fitting the automatic cars, is this 100% true? I was talking to the tuner down at the local shop while we were there yesterday ordering some parts for the other car, and he said BBK's are the best bang for the buck, but I've heard they dont fit with the automatic... (They will be going on my 2v.)

Am I misled on this info?

best bang for the buck headers would be flowtechs. that's what i have, cost 400 for the headers/midpipe, and they deff clear the auto. i have an auto, they clear everywhere on the trans, and I was even able to pull my trans out without removing the headers.

CT, have you had your car on a dyno before and after? Chris at AMP, who I talked to said that the BBK's have been the best improvement for the dollar...

I've looked at the flow tech's, and we talked about them, but now I'm pondering these other ones as well..

Any one ever use pacesetters? I know alot of LS guys like them.

I only have heard of one person with pace setters so i dunno how well those are. but as far as power gains i dunno about mine, never been on a dyno. however I dont see the difference, if any, being anything worth it. prolly just like an hpipe vs xpipe, not enough to worry about. I'd say the difference between these cheap flowtechs and something like slp/sw/kooks would be around 1-4hp.

Yeah, I asked the guys what they thought of macs, because I know ALOT of people really like them, and he said he wont even sell them to me because everything they've got from mac lately sucks... soo I guess Flow techs it is, back to my originial choice. haha.

I don't think there is a huge hp gain tolerance between all the brands. That's like saying brand x shorties make more power than brand y. I would buy longtubes based on fitment, not claimed hp gains.

Yeah, Killjoy, I've talked to CT a few months ago, and he said the flow techs are actually a pretty nice set, and fit well. He can also pull the trans with the LT's on the motor, which is a plus.
