Default Why buy a shorty antenna?

I don't get it. You guys pay $20(?) to have a "shorty antenna" when you can just take a hacksaw and cut yours to the desired length of choice. I did mine a year ago and I cut it down to 12-13" or something like that.

I still get great reception and I rid myself of that horrible ball thingy on the top of the antenna. Sure some of you will say "oh it's only $20" but thats $20 in my pocket suckaz!

When I bought my Mustang, the antenna looked like a stainless steel CB antenna. I was going to buy a new antenna regardless. Now I want to have the whole thing shaved off...

If power antennas would only go up when the tuner was in use and not when power is turned on the head unit I'd go with a power antenna.

That sentence doesn't make much sense does it?

What I mean is, if a power antenna would only go up when the tuner was in use and if it would stay down when the CD player or bluetooth or aux prot was in use I'd go with a power antenna.

Nobody even mentioned anything about a power antenna! That sh*t is on my moms 1995 buick roadmaster. And guess what? It broke! Keep them powerless and it's one less thing to go wrong IMO.

$20 in your pocket FTMFW!
