Default my SRA swap

over the past couple weeks i've been collecting parts to get this done. got almost everything yesterday so went ahead and started the swap today. 3 hours in and i got the irs out, sra somewhat in. have to do things like shocks/brakes and adjust everything. here's a couple pics i've grabbed along the way. wont be on the road until monday as i'm waiting on my diff cover from summit, lost the stocker so had to order one last minute .

the set up consists of a stock 8.8 with welded tubes, usa alloy 31 spline axles, 31 spline ford diff, oem 3.73's, perfect launch diff cover, gt brakes and gt springs with 1 coil cut, strange shocks, and baseline uppers and lowers. still have to find a catback, anyone selling a sra bassani or any catback with a straight thru muffler?

Very cool man! So when you were talking about dropping a 100 lbs. or so out of the car, was this what you were talking about? I was always told a SRA was a bit lighter, but never really knew for sure.

Oh yeah. The IRS in the MN12/Mark VIII is the same way. I can lift 200lbs fairly easily with my legs and I could barely get that damned thing up on a jack.

it's just funny looking at the two set ups knowing the sra is stronger, seems like so much less! I'm curious if i'll be losing more than 100lbs, i'd have to bet the irs setup weighs damn close to 300lbs, the sra i'm thinking weighs in closer to 150 or so.
