Default Scangauge II and the New Edge

Is anybody out there using a Scangauge II? I've had one for a while and have found it to be very useful. For those of you who are not familiar with this device, it plugs into the OBDII port and reads data flowing to the ECU.

Besides displaying and clearing fault codes, the SGII can display four performance parameters at a time. Several like voltage, coolant temperature, intake air temp, instant MPG, etc. are built in and others are accessible by programming the unit through its X Gauge capability.

Has anybody been able to access our cars' cylinder head temperature info with X Gauge commands? The manufacturer's suggested programming codes don't seem to work. Since you can display cylinder head temp via the odometer display, I know the data is in the car's brain.

Has anybody been able to use the ScanGauge II's X Command feature to access cylinder head temperature?

I 'm hoping cylinder head temperature is accessible

You will not be able to read it as there is none on the V8s; only the 3.8 L V6s have CHT sensors.

It is not really available on the HEC self-diagnostic mode either. I know is lists it in the documentation and will display the dEGC label howevr the value presented on the V8s is the engine coolant temperature...

Thanks, Cliff. I'll have to set to HEC self diagnostic mode to dEGC and compare it to the SGII coolant temp reading. This reminds me of something I read about the new Mustangs. I think the new cars extrapolate coolant temp data from other sensors.
