Default Instrument Cluster Question

So as most of you know I restored the GT premium Vert (in pic below sigature area).

One of the last screw ups the previous owner did I want to fix and be done with it is the gauge cluster white face hack job. (He did a poor job installing it and setting the needles, speed is off by 7 mph, rpm off by about 500, Temp needle off by almost half)

I was going to replace the entire cluster with one from another vehicle, but as I understand it the PATS system is contained within the circuit boards of my current cluster????

So my question is, if I get a new cluster and swap the boards, will my car start right up or do I still need to have it reprogrammed?

Also, with my boards will the mileage carry over so I have an accurate display?

Thanks in advance for reviewing and commenting.

You can get a new cluster and swap the boards with no issues. I would suggest getting a Mach 1 cluster and doing the led swap while you're at it.

Thanks Kerns

I should have grabbed the new one that was on eBay a few months. BNiB from FORD, but I wasn't that far into my project to worry about clusters.

So I will have to pick up a slightly used cluster and just do a board sap.
