Default 2V vs. 4V

I'm considering a set of 4V heads for my 2V '04 4.6 GT. I was told they will make a nice amount of power gain, more than most bolt-ons. While I had it apart I'd probably add cams. I can buy a set of heads for about $900. Would I get enough bang for the buck? I know what a supercharger would cost to install, and haven't ruled it out, but thinking more inexpensive mods first.

In the long run 4v will alwayd be bettwr than 2v, but thats doesbt mean u can get to your goal with a 2v. Depebds on cost and goals.

I hope you realize there is more to a 4V swap than just heads

Yes, I do. Mine is single cam heads. Just wondering the HP gains.

Also, if your compression ratio is factory ( for 2v), the compression will drop.

Bang for the buck? I doubt it. Bragging rights of having a 4V? Yes, definitely.

Figure you do cams as well, there's another $1200 in parts, on top of what you're spending on the heads. Plus, lots of other odds n' ends and "while you have it all apart" sort of stuff - timing cover, timing gear and chains, you didn't mention whether or not these heads come with an intake, you'll need a little tuning, probably some other stuff I know nothing about as well.....

So as you're proposing this, I can see this hitting the $3K mark real quick, and that's with you doing all of the work except tuning. For what, like, maybe 320rwhp?

Start saving for a blower dude.

I would not do a swap without going through the motor. That would be a HUGE gamble.
