Post New, have questions about 99-04 gt

Greetings, I am in the market to buy a 99-04 mustang gt manual, mainly because I plan on making it look like the 2000 cobra R's that I like. I'm not concerned too much about power but I would eventually like to have it at around 400 HP as it will be a daily driver.

1. Should I expect the transmission to hold up or is there something recommended to do after I pick it up(clutch, flywheel etc..)?

2. What problems could I expect popping up given the age and what parts should I swap out to ensure reliability for a daily driver?

3. I have been looking on Craigslist and most cars seem to have work done, anyone heard disaster stories about pre-mod cars or is it better to buy as close to stock as possible and do the work yourself?

Trannsmision will have no problems what so ever handling 400 HP. If it we me I would buy a nearly stock GT and start modding it my self. What's your price range?

That's good to hear, I am willing to spend 6k for the car. I do see a 1999 advertised as stock that I may try and test drive ( http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/cto/5027206648.html ).
